YT2095
does anyone know a lead azide solvent that won`t affect metals at all? its dried into place and compressed and I`de really rather not waste it by doing the obvious!
jdurg
Lead azide is very barely soluble in hot water, but VERY soluble in acetic acid. You could take a warm vinegar solution and wash the azide away slowly as it should be more soluble in the CH3COOH than most metals are.
YT2095
would it still be usable afterwards though? just on spec, how about eth or methanol? that would at least evaporate leaving my original azide

RyanJ
? how is that related to the question ryan Because YT said: would it still be usable afterwards though? just on spec' date=' how about eth or methanol? that would at least evaporate leaving my original azide [/quote'] If YT was asking if Azides are more stable in solution my answer makes sence.
