Severian Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 I will see if I can come up with cases where that possibility has been studied in the literature. Here is an example from someone respectable: http://arxiv.org/PS_cache/astro-ph/pdf/0511/0511267.pdf
Norman Albers Posted February 27, 2006 Posted February 27, 2006 An important mathematical observation I can make is that my photon sheath can not be expressed as a Lagrangian. This is a critical thing to learn, and we can look at its cause, possibly moving further. I am able to express energy contributions from, say, P-dot-E, where P is a polarization density vector. We can say that current is 'proportional' to 'A', and we can identify current as P-dot. Therefore, P is expressible only as the integral of A, and a Lagrangian expression has three orders of time derivative, so it is not successful. The message is that we have imported some physics and have not completed our accounting. So can we do some accounting of the backdrop, and what am I saying is necessarily so about it?
Norman Albers Posted March 2, 2006 Posted March 2, 2006 See my post in 'blackholes and EM waves' where the foundation of GR as a smoothly differential calculus is declared. I need to learn from you people and from books I don't have, on the implications of vacuum fluctuation theory to all this. Also I would like to learn the nature of 'virtual particle' theory and momentum loops. I describe necessary charge/current manifestation, and ask how does (or does not) QM say this?
CPL.Luke Posted March 3, 2006 Posted March 3, 2006 who is norman alber talking to? were a number of posts delted or something along those lines?
Norman Albers Posted March 3, 2006 Posted March 3, 2006 I am talking to those who see there is something missing in our foundation.
