Someone told me that black holes had dark matter in the center or otherwise contained dark matter. Is this true? I know dark matter is hypothectical and not proved, but has it even been hyposthosized that it is in black holes? This confused me.

its a constantly debated topic ... some scientists think dark matter is in the form of massive objects ... such as black holes ... that hang out around galaxies unseen ... other scientists believe dark matter to be subatomic particles that rarely interact with ordinary matter ...

If back holes exist, they will attract objects with mass. If dark matter exixts, it must have mass, and be more or less everywhere. So if black holes and dark matter exist, you can be pretty sure that there will be some dark matter inside.

How much dark matter probably depends on the model.

So the black holes would attract dark matter, assuming both exist, but black holes are not inherent with dark matter are they?

yeah thats basically it. if there was no dark matter(if it exists) in a few lightyears of the black hole and never was any. the black hole would still be a black hole despite having no dark matter contained in it.
