5614 Posted February 25, 2006 Posted February 25, 2006 It was suggested a while back by someone that it would be very nice if we could see how our post count is divided into each forum. For example it would say: "You have X posts in Physics, Y in Chemistry and Z in biology" Is this feature or something similar possible to implement?
Dave Posted February 25, 2006 Posted February 25, 2006 The simple answer is yes. Whether it's feasible (in terms of query speed) or not, I don't know. I shall look for some mods and see what I come up with.
5614 Posted February 25, 2006 Author Posted February 25, 2006 Why would the query speed be an issue? I assume with the current post count it is stored in a database. Everytime someone posts then 1 is added to their current count. With the posts per forum would it not be a similar method. So when you set it up it will take a while counting all the posts, but after that initial count wouldn't it be the same speed as post counts? I suppose if this system was implemented then when you post 2 values need to be updated (post count and count in forum) although I wouldn't have thought that would noticeably slow things down. And thanks for looking
