Cash payment for internet goods.

A U.K. company is rolling out a cash-voucher system for the payment of goods and services on the internet for those who do not have, or wish to use, debit and credit cards. It seems to work somewhat similarly to purchasing prepaid phone cards.

The company is called UKash.

It seems to be secure, and you can't run up unexpected debts because you can't spend more than you have already put in.

Question:: Is it a good/bad idea, useful/unuseful.

after a quick read, it Seems like a great idea, it`ll need more services to get onboard though, PayPal would be a good one to have as it`ll free up eBay, making more people likely to join.

at the moment I do something similar, I have a "special" bank account with X amount of cash in it, this is reserved only for PayPal use. but not everyone does this, a pre-pay voucher sounds like a great idea for accesability :)

I work in a newsagents and we sell a lot of Ukash vouchers via paypoint machines. There quite popular so i'm sure they're secure

Glad to hear it. I think they are available only in the U.K. and Spain at the moment, The U.S. is I believe pencilled in for next year, when of course they will have invented it.:)
