Meh Posted March 24, 2006 Posted March 24, 2006 Will it ever be possible for us to change our dna completely? Will it be possible for us to change our DNA and tell it not to use oxygen, but maybe hydrogen for life, and tell it that 400 degrees celsius wont kill us. Maybe then we could move onto another planet. Could we evolve our selves manually?
the tree Posted March 24, 2006 Posted March 24, 2006 Will it ever be possible for us to change our dna completely? It is, that's what gene therapy is for. Will it be possible for us to change our DNA and tell it not to use oxygen, but maybe hydrogen for lifeIf you could say, how the hell you'd do that, then yes.and tell it that 400 degrees celsius wont kill us.We are huge sacks of water' date=' how would 400 degrees not do damage?Maybe then we could move onto another planet. We can do that already, given a lot of money.Could we evolve our selves manually?Yes, genetic engineering is a very established technology.
Steph Posted March 24, 2006 Posted March 24, 2006 genetic engineering is far from established. We can do many things, true, but we still have an awful lot to learn.
the tree Posted March 24, 2006 Posted March 24, 2006 We have a lot to learn about memetics and the ways that people interpret infomation, but the Internet is still very established.
