surely menstruation occurs every 22 days?

most commonly in text books, ovulation occurs in the 2nd quarter of the cycle, but it is all relative.

It normally lasts for 28 days.

Does ovulation really occur at the middle of the menstrual cycle or just 14 before the end of a menstrual cycle?

Which is more persuasive?

It depends on each individual .

That is the concentration of each hormone that involve in the mestruation .

Ovulation is promoted by Luteinising hormone (LH) .

LH secretion in anterior pituitary gland is promoted by high levels of oestrogen .

Oestrogen secretion is carried out by Follicles in the Ovary .

Lastly , Follicle stimulate hormone is the hormone that stimulates the follicle to release oestrogen.

THUS , the whole process is chain reaction .

Factor like stress can alters the amount of secretion and hence disturbed the whole cycle .
