redvolution Posted April 6, 2006 Posted April 6, 2006 I am putting together a PowerPoint presentation and I would like to have a certain picture. I have seen this in a few education films and I think one of you will know what I mean. It looks exactly like these, but is from fish to land and animals. http://www.vega.org.uk/images/series/tnbt/endevolution/150.evolve.jpg http://www.learner.org/channel/courses/biology/images/archive/fullsize/1678_fs.jpg I tried looked at google for an hour and turned up nothing. Much thanks if you could find what I am looking for.
ecoli Posted April 6, 2006 Posted April 6, 2006 unfortunatly, evolution doesn't really work that way... to be more accurate, you should get a picture of a phylogenic tree.
silkworm Posted April 6, 2006 Posted April 6, 2006 Oh, you want the evolutionary poster? Do you know what to talk about when you get there? Here's more of what ecoli is talking about and I agree with him. http://images.google.com/images?q=human+evolution+tree&svnum=10&hl=en&lr=&safe=off&client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&start=0&sa=N Good luck.
mimefan599 Posted April 6, 2006 Posted April 6, 2006 Hes talking about the different stages of animal evolution presented front to back in chronological order.
silkworm Posted April 6, 2006 Posted April 6, 2006 Oh. I see what you want. Well, that's very much a work in progress. This fossil surfaced recently. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060406/ap_on_sc/landfish_fossil_7 I'm still wondering where that semi-aquatic mammal fossil from China fits in. I doubt you'll find anything that's any more than pretty speculative at this point, but I wish you luck.
redvolution Posted April 6, 2006 Author Posted April 6, 2006 I know evolution did not work that way. I would like to have that picture for a quick non-literal definition. The picture I am looking for would have a fish on the right, then a fish with legs in the middle, then finally a land animal on the left.
