I've often wondered about a couple of things........if I was growing up in Nazi Germany would I have stood up against the regime and helped Jewish people...or would I have accepted the propaganda of the day and been one of the masses? If I had grown up in the deep south of the USA would I have fought for the rights of black people? If I WAS black/Jewish would I have had courage to stand up for my rights? I hope I would have had courage but I don't really know. I was raised in a liberal environment but my beliefs have never been "tested" so I just wondered how many of you think you would have had the courage to rise to the challenge of standing up for honour and what's right? I'm really not sure if I would have the raw physical courage....although I'd hope I would have it. I do know that I hate injustice and lies but would I put my life on the line if it was required...I don't know.

One time there was this poor crippled bull, actually an Angus, Scottish dont'cha know. This other bull was mooing at it and stuff and wanting to fight with it which I didn't think was very fair. So I walked up to the mean bull and punched it in the forehead :P

The thing about it is the people were so blinded by their leader that a good portion never realized how wrong they were.

I'd hope I'd have the courage to stand up for something like that. Today's society is more about self-preservation, rather than standing up for beliefs. If the choice comes down to changing beliefs (or what you outwardly state as such), and death, most people would choose to change.

True, and a good point!

I`ve been hospitalised a few times for doing "what I beleive is right" I`de like to think that in such circumstance I would still do same, but I have a wife now, and hopefully one day children, now I can`t be so "proactive" as to what I beleve is right or wrong, there`s no longer only ME to think of, so I`m fairly sure I`de go with the masses to keep my family safe, as whipish or weak or that sounds, and given a choice me or them to die, I`de pick me anyday, but I`de go with a fight and then some!

I sinscerely hope and/or pray that NON of us are faced with or put in those sorts of situations again!

It's too bad this subject has to come down to violence. People should not HAVE to "fight" for what they believe in, but merely discuss the problems at hand and come up with mutually acceptable solutions.

The more time people spend fighting their enemies, the less time they can spend working on the initial problems. Thus, the problem with the current democratic model is revealed.
