augment Posted April 17, 2006 Posted April 17, 2006 What is it made out of on a molecular level. I know it's not a muscle so what is it?
H2SO4 Posted April 17, 2006 Posted April 17, 2006 basicaly, its a sponge that fills with blood and gets hard.
augment Posted April 17, 2006 Author Posted April 17, 2006 Yea I know that but biochemically what is it made of?
YT2095 Posted April 17, 2006 Posted April 17, 2006 when you consider there are 100`s of thousands of cell types involved, what Specificaly are you refering to?
insane_alien Posted April 17, 2006 Posted April 17, 2006 H2SO4 sums it up quite nicely. there isn't all that much to the penis. it just fills up with blood. the testicles are where the magic happens.
ecoli Posted April 17, 2006 Posted April 17, 2006 it's made of cells, blood vessels, lots of nerve endings and plenty of other stuff.
chadn Posted April 17, 2006 Posted April 17, 2006 Biochemically it consists of much the same stuff as the rest of your body. Perhaps your more interested in physiology and cell types?
YT2095 Posted April 17, 2006 Posted April 17, 2006 all of you Thus far Do understand that your "Answers" are NOT on the molecular scale as specified in the OP but on the Macro Cellular level at best?!
chadn Posted April 17, 2006 Posted April 17, 2006 I understand that perfectly. But its hard to give an answer to such a vague question. Personally I think he/she is probably more interested in what goes on at the cellular level. If he/she is indeed interested in what goes on at the molecular level they should be more specific....such as maybe what type of signalling goes on to bring about erections.
Blunt Posted April 17, 2006 Posted April 17, 2006 well magic happends in the Penis DNA strings... cos.. you cannot just pump something full of blood and then it will become stiff like that. Normal DNA tissue crosses with an angle of about 45 degress for most bendability. But when blood gets pumped into the Penis the DNA tissue changes and then it crosses at an angle of exactly 90 degress that makes sure its not so easy to bend. But that tissue cannot be made again so if you damage your penis to much in one place it will start to bend because the new tissue that your body has builded doesnt have changeable DNA tissue.
augment Posted April 18, 2006 Author Posted April 18, 2006 Yea more on the molecular side. I know it was vague. I'll try to narrow it down a bit. I've actually got a few questions. 1. Genetically what signals the penis to grow during adolescence? 2. Is it a genetic switch that controls growth? 3. I know it's made up of cells, but what type of cell specifically? We have a lot of different ones, don't we? That's all I got for now. Thanks.
ecoli Posted April 18, 2006 Posted April 18, 2006 it has a lot to do with a hormone called testosterone, which is released from the testes during puberty.
Blunt Posted April 19, 2006 Posted April 19, 2006 The size of you penis and the relationship beetween the you fingers are connected these are also connected to your performances in sports... i remember one test where a guy had to decide who was best out of an entire football team just based on thier hands. he chose 4 people of witch 3 where picked for the young talents teams.
2810712 Posted April 20, 2006 Posted April 20, 2006 Tesosterone activating the 'let grow' gene..? hope this is th ehormone to gene connection ur looking for! Fingersize? lets compare!!! Any expts I can Do...augment? Just kidding!
WillTheNewf Posted April 20, 2006 Posted April 20, 2006 I don't think theres nothing extradionarly different between cells of a penis compared to regular somatic cells of the body. The penis has little to do with the biochemistry your looking for. The biochemistry of the 'penis' takes place in the tesis. Thats where the magic happens, as was mentioned.
augment Posted April 20, 2006 Author Posted April 20, 2006 So testosterone is the only thing that tells the penis to grow? What tells it to stop growing?
2810712 Posted April 21, 2006 Posted April 21, 2006 What does tell it to stop grow...is it reduced testosterone...or nervous stimuli??? BTW, a slap received is a nervous stimulous too!!! Just kidding once more!
Bluenoise Posted April 21, 2006 Posted April 21, 2006 Biochemically? The question doesn't really have any relivance. It's make up of pretty much the same stuff as the rest of your body...
Genecks Posted April 22, 2006 Posted April 22, 2006 Does testosterone really determine the final length of the penis? I don't really think that is the answer. I'm sure that the proteins and other biochemicals that comprise it make it what it is, but the master genes are what determines it in the end. The DNA must have a present gene that determines length, however the hormones will turn on that gene. Proteins, hormones, and other chemical signals act as biochemicals. - http://www.wiley.com/legacy/college/boyer/0470003790/cutting_edge/viagra/viagra.htm Heh; I can't give anymore sources because this thread is third or so on google. lol.
2810712 Posted April 23, 2006 Posted April 23, 2006 Penis is just like other body parts tells that each part is much equally specialized...but she is asking abt how that specialization is regulated, right augment in humans?
augment Posted April 23, 2006 Author Posted April 23, 2006 I was asking a lot of questiosn actually and its he. Where the hell did you get she from?
Bluenoise Posted April 23, 2006 Posted April 23, 2006 I was asking a lot of questiosn actually and its he. Where the hell did you get she from? Geeze relax, how's he/she supposed to know your gender? Maybe you should state it at the beggining of every post you make if this bothers you so much.
2810712 Posted April 24, 2006 Posted April 24, 2006 sorry, i didn't meant to hurt u, sorry again. ONe more thing- writing 'he/she' kind of sounds bad...do u get?
