Cloud Posted April 17, 2006 Posted April 17, 2006 Whats the average length a human shrinks during their lifetime. It terrifies me that one day - I'll be shorter than I am right now. And let me tell you. I'm a shorty. The good news is - I made it into the bottom 5th percentile. High five. No? Ok. Does someone know? Obviously, environmental factors, the way you postion yourself ...in bed .etc plays a part. I just want an average figure e.g. 1.5 inches. Atleast then its quantative so I know how much more I need to grow to stay in the bottom 5% of males. I don't want to lose my manhood (and have 60% of females taller than me). So - any help. Would be great.
Callipygous Posted April 17, 2006 Posted April 17, 2006 if you search online im positive you can find some ankle straps that will allow you to hang upside down in your closet a few hours a day. : D (WOOOOOT 1000th post : D )
Ophiolite Posted April 26, 2006 Posted April 26, 2006 I believe it is of the order of 1", depending upon lifestyle, diet and genetics. To avoid this outcome emigrate to a space colony. In micro-gravity you will grow by a couple of inches. This is not as good as it sounds, as us tall bastards will grow the most.
DV8 2XL Posted April 26, 2006 Posted April 26, 2006 Don't worry - short, light weight folk don't shrink as much a the tall and heavy ones do. I've lost an inch and a half (I'm 55) mostly due to a collapsing spine. I was six-two once and 180lbs, now I'm shorter and 220.
augment Posted April 27, 2006 Posted April 27, 2006 How are you going to grow, even in microgravity if your growth plates are closed?
