Tell your teacher they are propagating the breeding of an uneducated generation in preparation for life in a society where only the eloquent succeed. They are crippling your vocabulary, a pox on them. For someone who obviously enjoys the written word, you should feel insulted. Probably.
Cap'n Refsmmat
Sorry, finished that (two hours ago). Man, I hate reading at 750.2 words per minute.

mooeypoo
I'm actually just reading Hawking's books. About time I'll read 'em. But I'm also in the middle of Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy - the fifth (and last) book. Both of them are awsome.
Cap'n Refsmmat
I just read Tom Clancy's Submarine. I'm reading Last Man on the Moon now. (in-school, so it's only about 20 mins a day)
mooeypoo
Eugh I hated those "reading times" - every time I got to a good part in the book the 20 minutes ended.

NavajoEverclear
Finishing Ender's Shadow, Then gonna read Speaker for the Dead and Shadow Puppets. Got a few evolution books from the library, mostly just started all of them. I'm farthest in one called Quantum Evolution, by some guy with an M in his name. Supposed to be some breakthrough, but i haven't been interested yet. Likely a waste of time on some well written bull. Oh well, we may learn something. A few Dawkins books, River out of Eden i started, really interesting. Come to think of it i think i should ditch the other book and read that one. I also intend to read some Gandhi books i've had for two years, and only read bits and pieces of so far. One is his autobiography

J'Dona
Stranger in a Strange Land. I'm reading it when there aren't any customers at the bookshop where I now work, which is most of the time. I get paid £3.50 an hour for it too.
NavajoEverclear
is Ender's Shadow anything to do with Ender's Game? Yes, its a parellel novel, mostly from the point of view of Bean. I cant remember Enders Game real well (except the main plot), but this is as good or better.
bloodhound
Cool, I might try to get it then. I really enjoyed reading Ender's game.
