herme3 Posted April 20, 2006 Posted April 20, 2006 I was quoted in this article on the BBC's web site: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/science/nature/4923248.stm My quote is near the bottom of the article when I said, "I can't believe that this program wasn't completely tested before being released to thousands of people around the world". The quote comes from the third post at http://www.climateprediction.net/board/viewtopic.php?t=4697
Genecks Posted April 20, 2006 Posted April 20, 2006 Who says they didn't test it on those who didn't know they were being tested on?
herme3 Posted April 20, 2006 Author Posted April 20, 2006 The reason they found the problem was because all of the models crashed once they got to a certain point. This shows that they never tested the whole model before releasing it to the public. Of course, it would have been difficult to completely test it themselves because a model takes so long to run. I guess they were in too much of a hurry.
