HELP!!! diffusion!!!

im currently doing a project on diffusion and am wondering if the speed of diffusion of dye in a liquid, say oil, has anything to do with its viscosity or surface tension. Thanx

Well shure it does... it also has to do with the size if the molecules involved, is easier for smaller molecules to diffuse then larger ones.

Viscosity normally constitutes high molecular size, e.g. the comparison of bitumen and petrol for example. Bitumen has the larger molecule size and so is much less viscous then the petrol.

Cheers,
