Then describe the number and type of roots for the equation. 25x^2-20x+4=0 2x^2+10x+9=2x Write an equation for the parabola with vertex at (-4,2) and y-intercept -2. Solve 2x^2-7x-15<0 algebraically. Solve 3x^2-x=4 by factoring.

Cloud Posted May 1, 2006 Posted May 1, 2006 First one -Once you complete the square it should look like this: (x+ 1/6)^2 - 1/36 = 2/3 (Then solve the equation) Second one just plug these values into the formula. a=2 b=-9 c=5 Third one - don't know (thats an english essay question, right?) The fourth one = y= ax2 + bx + c You already know what c is (-2) and a value of y and x (4, -2) 2 = (a x 16) + (b x -4) - 2 To find a and b - you have to do yet another simultaneous equation. I'm fed up with these type of questions. the fifth one - Just solve the equation any way (quadratic formula etc) Then write the x values as an inequality in respect to 0. Answer to last one: (3x +4)(x -1) The rest is up to you - fill in the blanks.
