wiggy Posted May 3, 2006 Posted May 3, 2006 What jobs are available in physics? I know about a few e.g research, design, education even medical physics but can anyone think of any more?
ecoli Posted May 3, 2006 Posted May 3, 2006 oh yeah there are http://www.phys-astro.sonoma.edu/advisor/Jobs.html#phys The big one you're missing is industry.

swansont Posted May 3, 2006 Posted May 3, 2006 Many theoretical physicists have extremely good math modeling skills, desired in the financial sector.

abskebabs Posted May 4, 2006 Posted May 4, 2006 I am also quite interested in Physics, and to be honest; I am even considering switching course once I get to University, even though I've already applied for chemical engineering. It's a tough choice to make, and from from my perspective, it seems it would be easier to get a job(probably relatively well paid too) by doing chemical engineering, but physics is a course I would do just for the love of the subject(which is very interesting). Even after having applied to University I'm still not sure what I want to do with my life....
