Squintz Posted November 18, 2003 Posted November 18, 2003 What do they use to make the plastic orthodontic retainers that one must wear after having their braces removed. I'm looking for a brand name of the plastic they use. I know it's a fairly quick process so i believe that the plastic starts as a liquid and maybe a hardner is added to make it plastic. I really just want to know if there is such thing as a liquid plastic which i could buy to make custom housing for my electronics projects. I dont want to buy expensive machines and stuff since i would only be making one or 2 molds a year.
Squintz Posted November 22, 2003 Author Posted November 22, 2003 I asked my aunt who is a orthodontist tech. She said they use a Polymer and Molymer Powerder and Liquid mix to create these retainers. Does anyone know of a brand name of this Powder and liquid mixture used to make plastic.
YT2095 Posted November 22, 2003 Posted November 22, 2003 Use epoxy resin or "chemical Metal". that`s all I use for stuff I may patent or in 1 shot security devices. don`t forget to scratch the numbers off your chips/trans etc.. first!
