If everything in time is destroyed by the movement of the plates in tectonics. everything going to the fire below and destroyed. We do not know what life was here before do we. Only what has survived...Any views on this?????

The Earth isn't old enough to have completely recycled its crust - and certainly not since the appearance of life.

Also it is usually the heavier oceanic crust that sinks. The lighter continental crust will usually ride on top of the oceanic crust. If oceanic crust meets continental crust, then the oceanic crust is usualy the one that is pushed under. Fosils (etc) on the continental crust will therfore be preserved.

This age thing is what we know at the moment ,isn't it true that the goal posts change all the time as we gain more knowledge.

Yes theories are always being refined, but when it comes to the age of the earth its not going to change much maybe a few million years here and there but not by billons of years.

yeah the goal posts in science are defined as being in a certain range, we don't know where they are in that range maybe but they're there. new more accurate theories just bring us closer to the location of the goal posts.
