children hitting themselves

Featured Replies

My mom was very verbally/emotionally/mentally abusive. When she would scream and yell and I would hit myself because I'd rather her beat me and get it over with than scream at me for hours on end. Id often hit myself because it felt like if I punished myself, she would see that i was harder on myself. So I would punch myself in the face and slap myself. Sounds stupid but at the time its all I could do... Cant hit your parents cuz theyre bigger..

My brother had hydrocephalus when he was just a baby. The doctor said that my brother was too young to perform surgery so he was given some drugs instead. He had seizures a lot and was always in and out of the hospital. He's 13 and okay now, but he doesn't know how to talk or show what he wants. Whenever we leave him alone he destroys everything and HURTS himself, he bangs his head hit himself and pinch. He also does this to other people. We also enrolled him in a special school but itdidn't help.  Can someone please tell me if there's a treatment for this? I really want him to experience living a normal life.
