we have been digging up fossils and creating museums for past few hundred years, but suppose after 100 million years some civilization took birth and began to dig fossils,then they would find human fossils with dinosaurs and other ancient reptiles. maybe entire history of earth will be messed up for them.

I'm sure they'd also find the little plaque next to the dinosaur bones saying "165 Million Years Ago". Or they'd realize that half of them were plaster reproductions.

They'd be pretty advanced, then, since we can't date bone unless it's only a few thousand years old. Fossils are dated by sediment layers, which in turn are dated by volcanic flows present in these layers. We know the original isotope ratios that'll come out of a volcano, so we use that.

They may come to the conclusion that dinosaurs were very medically advanced as they were able to repair fractured skeletons with plaster replacements. OMG, they were able to replace 75% of a fractured skull!!! :eek:

i think the fun here would not be whether or not they could figure the bones age and were collected items, but what would be their interpretations.

"hmm... we can see by these artifacts our ancestors were involved in cults of bone worship. and you see how plaster was used to form a shape recreation of these bones here? that ment they recreated bone objects which they could attach to themselves in the belief they would gain the mystic energies of the animal."

think back on all the scholarly interpretations you've heard describing pass civilizations based on a few recovered objects.

How do we know that the entire history of the world is screwed up for us? I've read articles about people who have found human artifacts in rock older than they are supposed to be in.

There are natural explanations (as I recall), but its attracted the attention for many conspiracies.
