YT2095 Posted November 30, 2003 Posted November 30, 2003 you can`t, not without taking into account traction/friction (it may behave differently on Ice than on a road), break efficiency also plays a part. the engine size is irrelevent as the BHP takes that into account as does the overall mass.
Guest mijan10 Posted November 30, 2003 Posted November 30, 2003 i see what u mean, but the friction can be ignored as i was told. its just for normal dry coditions so can u give me any sort of formulas to work out the stoping distance from BHP and the mass?? thanx
Skye Posted November 30, 2003 Posted November 30, 2003 The only thing that I can think of that you could calculate from the horsepower and weight would be a power-to-weight ratio. At the very least you need to know how fast the car is going to start with.
