aj47 Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 Have any of you have bought anything of http://www.ukvisco.com/ before? I ordered fuse off them two weeks ago and it still hasn't come despite them advertising 2-5 day delivery. I've emailed them several times but they will not reply so i'm pretty pissed off. Anyway do any of you know if it's a credibile site?
YT2095 Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 Hmmmm... Interesting! I also ordered Fuse (the water-proof sort) from a different site, and that never turned up either! I think there maybe some sort of clampdown on such products now, you`re probably on a Watch List with the police as a result! you`re in good company though, so am I edit: I`ve just sent them an email asking a few questions about burn rate, bulk purchase etc... as a potential customer, I`ve also asked in there about a few bad reports of non delivery that I`ve read about, IF! I get a reply, I`ll let you know
wh666-666 Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 Never ordered anything from them but looks like a crappy small company as its a rubbish site. YT may be correct about a clampdown. Whenever i buy my fireworks, fuses or other weapons (*chuckle*, joking about weapon stockpile) i dont tend to use the internet and prefer to go to a specialist shop to see what im purchasing. Had a friend who purchased fuse wire off some far eastern source without seeing the product thinking it was exactly what he needed and then found out the burn rate wasnt the same as he was led to believe.

But anyway thanks , i'll let you know if I eventually get it.
aj47 Posted July 1, 2006 Author Posted July 1, 2006 yay success. I sent them another angry email and I got the fuse through today with a reply and a full refund. Ah I love getting things for free
woelen Posted July 2, 2006 Posted July 2, 2006 I would be very careful ordering complete pyro products. Pyro chemicals already are suspicious nowadays, but complete devices are really suspicious (at least in the country where I live). From that same site as YT ordered some stuff, I already ordered three times and I must say that their chems are no problem and I always got what I paid for, with fast shipping times (communication about order status could be better though). I'm quite sure, however, that ordering complete fuses would be a whole different thing for me, then I would really be afraid of getting the parcel through customs. So, next time, you'd better make your own fuses. More work, more hassle, but less suspicious. Of course the different chemical constituents you then have to purchase from different suppliers. E.g. I never order oxidizers and reductors at the same time, and of I ordered oxidizers at one suppliers, then I'll certainly look for an alternative supplier for reductors. It is sad that we have to do this kind of things, but it be so.
YT2095 Posted July 3, 2006 Posted July 3, 2006 here was the reason: ""Hi, Recently we've been having a few issues with orders not being logged and emails disappearing. All of these issues have been fixed over the weekend and any discrepancies have been resolved. Unfortunately the only fuse we have in stock at the moment is the 1/16th inch Chinese visco. As stated on the site it burns at about one meter every 70 seconds. If you have any other questions please do not hesitate to reply to this email. Regards, Chaz, UK Visco "" this just arrived a few mins ago, so I recon they`re all back up and running again
aj47 Posted July 3, 2006 Author Posted July 3, 2006 Yea that was the reason they gave to me aswell. I would be very careful ordering complete pyro products. I am quite conscience of buying certain combinations of chemicals i.e. phosphorus and iodine, but then again AFAIK i'm not doing or plan to do anything illegal. Although I like to avoid any unecessary suspicion as to not get any orders intercepted, if it was to go so far as me being investigated, I don't think they wouldn't find anything.
YT2095 Posted July 3, 2006 Posted July 3, 2006 well I`ve just purchased 2 reels of the 1/16`th visco, lets see how long this takes! although I don`t have to worry so much about being listed as they would be More Than welcome to see and know my reason for this purchase
