bascule Posted July 14, 2006 Posted July 14, 2006 Following "Dr." Kent Hovind getting arrested for tax evasion, I decided to look for his videos on video.google. Lo and behold, someone uploaded them! (and labeled them why??????, unreliable, pseudoscience, fraud, dishonest dino, an insult to the christian intellect, and absurd) http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=6833722951687298593 Hooray! Here are some of their claims: "Scientists have theorized that the T-Rex could probably breathe fire" "If you could get near him you could very easily pull off the arm of the T-Rex. He would die because he would bleed to death." "Dinosaurs are reptiles, and reptiles never stop growing." "Dinosaur footprints and people footprints were found together in Glenrose, Texas" "The most up to date scientific information shows that dinosaurs did not live millions of years ago, they lived with man. There are still some around today." "Missionaries have reported that the natives are scared of Pterodactyl's [sic] still living around Kenya, Africa. The natives call them Kongamato."
silkworm Posted July 14, 2006 Posted July 14, 2006 I know it seems silly, but people actually believe that drivel. Trust me. I have to deal with it all the time. I tell them these people are dishonest, frauds and look what happens. I hope you do some HARD time Hovind.
bascule Posted July 14, 2006 Author Posted July 14, 2006 Check out Evolution: LIES IN THE TEXTBOOKS http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-1077170043893992263 "I DON'T THINK STUDENTS SHOULD BE LIED TO" -- "Dr." Kent Hovind This coming from a guy who teaches that T-Rex could breathe fire
Mokele Posted July 14, 2006 Posted July 14, 2006 Well, in all fairness, dinosaurs do still exist today in great numbers (birds), and reptiles do grow continuously throughout their lives (some recent studies indicate that at least prosauropods had this reptilian-style growth). Frankly, though, I wouldn't be surprised is he claimed Apatasaurus shat gold. Mokele

That's a lot fairer than I would've been... to a guy who claims that an emptying lake eroded through a mile of granite in less than a year
SmallIsPower Posted July 14, 2006 Posted July 14, 2006 "Dinosaur footprints and people footprints were found together in Glenrose' date=' Texas"[/quote'] I thought Texans were primative.
Edtharan Posted July 15, 2006 Posted July 15, 2006 "Dinosaur footprints and people footprints were found together in Glenrose, Texas" Hmm, I wonder how this effects the "Out of Africa" theory of human evolution. Also, how does it sit with the beliefe that the middle east is the aincent site of the Garden of Eden?
AzurePhoenix Posted July 15, 2006 Posted July 15, 2006 Hmm, I wonder how this effects the "Out of Africa" theory of human evolution. It doesn't. It's just more poorly thought out, false creation-"science" bullcrap Clicky for yet another TalkOrigins explanation of the truth
AL Posted July 19, 2006 Posted July 19, 2006 Here's a funny Hovind video: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-4440517326780624645&q=debate Fast forward to 24:40 and you'll hear this funny quote from him: "...quit using my tax dollars to put [evolution] in our school system" Yes, he said "my." Classic.
