TWJian Posted July 22, 2006 Posted July 22, 2006 Just curious... since most names are transliterated into Japanese by using katakana, how are East-Asian names, particularly Chinese translated into Japanese? Are Chinese names transliterated by using katakana, using the hanzi as kanji directly (if it exists in both and modified first), any combination of the above or another method?
Dak Posted July 22, 2006 Posted July 22, 2006 I seem to remember that they can take a japenesified pronunsiation of their chinese name, or the japanese reading of the kanji of their name.
snowdown Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 (edited) It sounds like very good method. But It doesn't solve this problem . How should we do ? [Link removed] Edited March 20, 2009 by Phi for All
