Ecstatic Hangover

I didn't think this was worthy of the medicine forums, but feel free to move it. Anyway, one thing I've noticed if I've had a few cans the night before, is after feeling a bit groggy in the morning I feel absolutely fantastic, almost ecstatic...I'm well ahead with my last assignment so I had a 'few' last night as a treat. I came into work, stuck my headphones on, and I felt like dancing around with an idiotic grin on my face...obviously I didn't, because I was at work, but I would of done, if I was at home...in private.

Another thing I've noticed is, when I'm enjoying this elated feeling of the morning after, and a song comes on...I practically fall in love with it, and can't stop listening to it...it's as though I attribute the music to that feeling, so I end up relentlessly listening to that particular tune. Is there any reason to this ridiculously happy state, I can't work out why I feel so damn good when I'm hungover. I'm in such a good mood right now...I rarely feel down anyway, but I feel absolutely great, great I tell you !

Hmmm.. it`s a dangerous game to play, it can lead to Alcoholism ultimately, most all alcoholics started off with exactly the same feelings until it stopped working, and so the amount was UPed and so forth, chasing that "High".

the exact Mechanism behind it I`m uncertain of, but it`s non the less fact that such a thing CAN and DOES lead to dependancy.

tread carefully dude!

I do...I only drink when I feel I deserve it, or when I go out. Which I suppose is quite a bit (the going out part.) But thanks for the warning, I didn't really think of it like that, but I certainly don't feel the need for a drink when I'm hungover...and I don't drink whilst I study, which is practically everyday of the working week. I thought it was more the effect of the alcohol wearing off, that I managed to analyse.

I find the same but usually the other way round. For me if I stay up late enough drinking I wake up feeling scarily good, but I know the good feelings down to me still being slightly tipsy. Although after the fun few hours upon waking, the most horrible hangover always ensues which is why I try not to let it happen too often.

Well, the reason I was interested, is that it isn't a loss of inhibitions which is obviously the effect of alcohol, but a 'feel good' sensation. I'm really not swayed by such a thing...I get my high from reading, and learning (as nerdy as that sounds.) Just thought it was an actual side effect of a hangover. I have thought about what YT said, but I don't really act on such things...10 years ago it would of been a different matter.
