Igor Suman Posted October 5, 2006 Posted October 5, 2006 Is it possible to draw a little power from a SCART socket on a video recorder, e.g. 1millamp @ approx 10 Volts (DC), to power a pre-amp circuit.
x__heavenly__x Posted October 9, 2006 Posted October 9, 2006 I dont know the hackability of the SCART. It 'could' cause a possible disruption in the normal/original flow. If you are planing to hook it while its transmiting.
5614 Posted October 10, 2006 Posted October 10, 2006 What exactly are you trying to do? By the sounds of it you want to put your SCART lead into your home made circuit and then feed that into, your TV? Speakers? If you draw a current from a SCART lead that is in use it could possibly corrupt the signal or, at least, weaken it. One SCART lead doesn't cost too much, so I'd say; try it! And tell us how it goes.
Igor Suman Posted October 10, 2006 Author Posted October 10, 2006 I have found a pin-out diagram for SCART sockets, (SCART 21 Pin Euroconnector) :- http://www.acl.co.uk/pinouts.htm It doesn't look promising as a power source.
