Making IR glasses

Is it possible to make Infra Red googles for night vision with ordinary house hold materials?

 

If so, please tell me how!

Not raelly with household items.

 

To see IR anyway you need a IR enabled camera. Try your mobile phone first. Press a few buttons of yout TV remote in front ofthe lence and see. you should see some faint light.

 

To have glasses, you wouldneed to mount a small camera and a screen

 

google 'IR glasses' 'IR camera glasses' or something to find a few projects

near or far infrared? near infra red can be detected by removing the IR filter from the lense assembly for far IR you need some pretty uncommon optics and sensors.

Although you can get them.

 

I've seen IR-only binoculars on sale before. They're considered more specialist, you'd need to find a specialist shop or somewhere on the Internet where you could buy them. They're probably quite expensive though.
