chuinhen Posted October 23, 2006 Posted October 23, 2006 i have come across the word NATURAL OCCURING FATS !!!!i i have some references state that the fatty acid in the NATURAL OCCURING FATS must be a straight chain fatty acid ???? Is it true ???
Skye Posted October 25, 2006 Posted October 25, 2006 Oh sorry, when I said 'they' I meant branched chain fatty acids. There are a small number of species of branched chain fatty acids that occur naturally, and in most organisms they are in low concentrations. I think in sponges, and maybe some nuts, they are at resonably high concentrations.
