How would you get a tidal lock with no tides? Tides are a consequence of there being elasticity in the surface of the planet/moon. As long as a force is exerted, there is a tide.

elfin vampire Posted January 4, 2004 Posted January 4, 2004 According to computer models based within established physics, early in the formation of the 'proto-Earth,' when the solar system was young a Mars-sized object smashed into it and this mantle ejecta formed the moon. Thus the Moon and the tides have been there as long as there have been oceans. I offer the following point scoring system for alternative theories. http://www.scienceforums.net/forums/showthread.php?postid=31178#post31178
YT2095 Posted January 4, 2004 Posted January 4, 2004 see here: http://www.scienceforums.net/forums/showthread.php?postid=31178#post31178 in post #18 you said the same thing, it`s needless flooding and it already exists on here also, which one would you like to remove?
elfin vampire Posted January 5, 2004 Posted January 5, 2004 Thanks. Haven't mastered the art of hosting links on your site yet so I guess I'll have to just post and let you do your jobs. However if you'd like to make me a moderator or administrator I'd be happy to oblige with a greater degree of forum organisation. Think of it this way. What fun would it be being mod/admin. if nobody ever gave you anything to do? If I can't figure out how to do that post-link thingy I'll PM one of you anyway, how's that sound?
Sayonara Posted January 5, 2004 Posted January 5, 2004 You can just paste a URL into your post and it will automatically link it for you
