blike Posted December 19, 2003 Posted December 19, 2003 JERUSALEM, Dec. 18 -- Prime Minister Ariel Sharon said Thursday night that Israel would end negotiations with the Palestinians "in a few months" and unilaterally declare new borders if the Palestinian government did not immediately act to halt terrorism. Sharon proposed what he described as a "disengagement plan" in which Israel would evacuate some Jewish settlements in the Palestinian territories and draw a new "security line," largely along the route of the massive fence and wall currently being built by Israel around much of the West Bank. http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=1802&e=2&u=/washpost/20031219/ts_washpost/a13478_2003dec18 About stinkin time.
greg1917 Posted December 20, 2003 Posted December 20, 2003 The damage has already been done in this disasterous situation. Palestinians will still be treated like scum within Israel, be denied basic human rights and have there homes bulldozed. The coalition can piss away as much time and money in Iraq as it likes - this is the conflict that needs resolved and until it is, arabs will continue to feel persecuted and trodden on by Europeans, jews and Americans in whatever order.
matter Posted December 20, 2003 Posted December 20, 2003 Jews don't like Palestinians, Palestinians don't like Jews. This won't change.
blike Posted December 20, 2003 Author Posted December 20, 2003 Yea, maybe if they'd stop blowing civilians up they'd get better treatment. There are many arabs living within the state of Israel, registered as Israeli citizens. Nearly 20% of Israel's population is not Jewish (in descent), and the majority of these are Arab-Israeli. Nobody has a problem with Arabs. Israel DOES have a problem with Arabs who DELIBERATELY BLOW THEMSELVES UP in public places. Seventy percent of palestinians support these utter wastes of human flesh. Perhaps if they wouldn't welcome Islamic militants into their home, they'd still have it. I say Israel builds a giant wall and shuts out everything else. Let the palestinians wallow in their misery and suffocate under their pathetic leadership.
YT2095 Posted December 20, 2003 Posted December 20, 2003 here`s what I`de like to know... where the hell do they get these explosives from in the 1`st place? all energetic materials have a shelf life, millitary or otherwise. so they must have regular suppliers, and surely there can be restrictions put on those factories that produce the stuff? or maybe just locate and "shut" the factory down. there`s only so much of that stuff you can produce in a makeshift lab, and it certainly would be enough to keep them supplied considering the regularity and amounts used. it has to be made industrialy, can`t that be targeted instead? find the SOURCE of this stuff? just a thought
matter Posted December 20, 2003 Posted December 20, 2003 That Bus bombing was really dispicable. Seeing dead children as a result of that bombing was really very sad. I don't support Palestine but I don't support Israel. Israeli's have killed Palestinian civilians before. The whole mess is really quite frustrating. I guess I support Israel in the feeling that no one should blow up a bus filled with school girls. Horrific.
atinymonkey Posted December 27, 2003 Posted December 27, 2003 My sister is off to a wedding tomorrow. The groom is a member of the Bomb Squad in Palestine. He must be a happy, well balanced chap. But, um, I'm pretty sure that there have been civilian casualtys before.
