A particle is dropped from the top of a tower on the Earth's equator. As a result of the Earth's rotation, does it land slightly to the east, or slightly to the west of the tower?

You'll be wanting to use the equations: v= rw

v is velocity

r is radius

w is angular frequency

Work out whether v is higher or lower at the top compared to the bottom, as it'll be falling with horizontal velocity of that at the top.
