-Demosthenes- Posted November 14, 2006 Posted November 14, 2006 I wander around the internet a lot, and am on a few different forums and other places, but where are you guys? What forums do you visit? Do you have a blog? Do you belong to some online community?
Cap'n Refsmmat Posted November 14, 2006 Posted November 14, 2006 SFN, TFN, and OD (OriginsDebate) I participate actively on, and I spend time reading MozillaZine, area51.phpbb.com, UbuntuForums, Neowin, and maybe another one or two.
blackhole123 Posted November 14, 2006 Posted November 14, 2006 I am on a social board called current events on gameFAQS a lot but they are all idiots. We call ourselves CEmen.
Mokele Posted November 14, 2006 Posted November 14, 2006 I'm gonna poke around TFN in a bit. Otherwise, I participate on DeviantArt forums for prose and fantasy lit, Fauna Classifieds (very large reptile sale and discussion site), a small, mostly dead site on writing, various Livejournal communities (Biology, Scientists, Herpers, Snakecommunity, ljcps), and Terraforums (very large carnivorous plant discussion and trade site). Bettina Posted November 14, 2006 Posted November 14, 2006 It used to be just this forum for science and theology but now its these when I'm not busy with school. http://www.sciencechatforum.com/bulletin/index.php http://www.thescienceforum.com/index.php My two game forums for a game I play online... http://www.descentbb.net/viewforum.php?f=4 http://www.planetdescent.com/asp/forum_index.asp and a teen and school forum which I keep private. blike Posted November 14, 2006 Posted November 14, 2006 This forum is really the only forum I visit consistently, and sometimes I can't even visit this one consistently
-Demosthenes- Posted November 14, 2006 Author Posted November 14, 2006 SFN, TFN, and OD (OriginsDebate) I participate actively on, and I spend time reading MozillaZine, area51.phpbb.com, UbuntuForums, Neowin, and maybe another one or two. What's TFN?
Bettina Posted November 14, 2006 Posted November 14, 2006 http://www.ilovephilosophy.com/phpbb Thank you Gib.... I liked what I saw and joined... Bee
-Demosthenes- Posted November 14, 2006 Author Posted November 14, 2006 TheologyForums.Net. Oh duh... New site looks good, I'm enjoying it.
woelen Posted November 14, 2006 Posted November 14, 2006 http://www.sciencemadness.org -- the best home science and chem site there is !!! http://www.chemicalforums.com Besides that, two dutch forums and a German forum. http://www.chemieforum.nl http://www.chemixtry.be -- like sciencemadness, dutch/belgian variation http://www.versuchschemie.de SFN, sciencemadness and chemixtry I visit on a very regular basis. The others I visit on a more irregular basis. Whether I will be a regular contributor to the theologyforums depends on how it develops. I'm a lurker on some mathematics forums and physics forums.
YT2095 Posted November 14, 2006 Posted November 14, 2006 http://www.discusscooking.com/ http://www.sciencemadness.org/ I used to use the eBay Comunity forum in the Gardening/Vegetable section too.
Gilded Posted November 14, 2006 Posted November 14, 2006 Hmm, I didn't know Sciencemadness had an energetic materials subsection. Anyway, currently just SFN. Occasional gaming forums in the past too.
Royston Posted November 14, 2006 Posted November 14, 2006 Just SFN, and a music technology forum (due to a synth problem I had) which I havn't used for such a long time I've forgotten the name....errr, no it's gone. EDIT: and a few posts on the new theology forums, however my study starts again next week, so it'll probably stay a few posts for quite some time.
swansont Posted November 14, 2006 Posted November 14, 2006 HowWhatWhy, which basically took over the forum of HowStuffWorks when they abandoned it. Occasionally Bad Astronomy/Universe Today
bluesmudge Posted November 14, 2006 Posted November 14, 2006 http://www.modaco.com , http://www.ubuntuforums.org . . . tis about it
gib65 Posted November 14, 2006 Posted November 14, 2006 Thank you Gib.... I liked what I saw and joined... Bee Look forward to seeing you there. Are you under the same name?
Heretic Posted November 14, 2006 Posted November 14, 2006 SFN, TFN, and OD (OriginsDebate) I participate actively on, and I spend time reading MozillaZine, area51.phpbb.com, UbuntuForums, Neowin, and maybe another one or two. What exactly is the Origins Debate forum? Is it creation vs. evolution or is it actually something more interesting?
Cap'n Refsmmat Posted November 14, 2006 Posted November 14, 2006 That's about all it is. http://www.originsdebate.com
ecoli Posted November 15, 2006 Posted November 15, 2006 SFN, obviously. TFN, Origins debate, sciencechatforums.com, physicsforums.com and the C&H forum with the s/n ecoli others on Myspace and facebook groups.
Klaynos Posted November 15, 2006 Posted November 15, 2006 The only two I get time to even partially read, these and my uni's guild ones...
Bettina Posted November 15, 2006 Posted November 15, 2006 Look forward to seeing you there. Are you under the same name? Yes, I still use my name but I have another problem. I noticed that some freely use the fword in their posts and thats a no-no with me. (I've always associated fword boys with rtards) I left a message there asking if there was a way for me to turn them off but if there isn't, I'm outta there. Bettina
[Tycho?] Posted November 15, 2006 Posted November 15, 2006 Social Entropy -- its one of the Penny Arcade subforums. Notoriously rough, although its mellowed out a ton in recent years. Just general conversation and joke making for the most part. Not for serious discussion. Debate and Discourse --another Penny Arcade subforum, for on-topic conversation. Ministry of Free Thought -- a subforum of Macaddict, a macintosh computer magazine. Its for discussion politics, religion and other things like that. Only 15 people regularly post there at one time, but I've been a member since I was 14, and I still like it. Totse forums --- a hive of stupidity for the most part, I spend most of my time there ripping into people who make things up about science.
gib65 Posted November 15, 2006 Posted November 15, 2006 I noticed that some freely use the fword in their posts Yup I left a message there asking if there was a way for me to turn them off but if there isn't, I'm outta there. Bettina Oh, come on. Don't let a little fword scare you off? Tell you what. If you catch people using naughty words, let me know and I'll give them an ear full
