Guest aepheus Posted November 20, 2006 Posted November 20, 2006 I'm doing some research about the use of brain machine interfaces (communicating with computers via an implant) and would be greatful for anyone willing to fill out a survey (quick and clean 3 yes or no questions) Survey Thanks.
gib65 Posted November 20, 2006 Posted November 20, 2006 I would never subject myself to that (the implant, not your survey ). If I had a chip in my brain, or even anywhere under my skin, I'd eventually get paranoid that someone's using it to controlling me. I'd be pulling my hair out trying to prove my delusions wrong.
bascule Posted November 20, 2006 Posted November 20, 2006 I'm hoping that it's possible to create wireless brain/computer interfaces which do not require implants whatsoever.
ParanoiA Posted November 20, 2006 Posted November 20, 2006 The risks turned me off. I can't imagine suffering irreversible brain damage, laid up like a cucumber for life and my wife having to tell my kids the story of why daddy went into surgery.
jeremyhfht Posted November 20, 2006 Posted November 20, 2006 Yay, nothing like brain implants that would completely destroy/damage your brain with a strong enough EMP. I'll be against anything cyberized until the day I die.
Aardvark Posted November 20, 2006 Posted November 20, 2006 It would be easier to give a response if we had a better idea of the function or benefit of these implants. What sort of benefits/uses are we being hypothetically offered here?

I'd be willing to take some risks, but I'll wait for the technology and technique to be perfected, thank you very much.
