carol Posted December 18, 2006 Posted December 18, 2006 bats are pretty interesting animals. the species present in an area would tell you the present condition of it. Certain species live on certain altitudes. Some live in disturbed forrests and caves, while others dwell in abandoned buildings. We have spotted a cave once in which it shelters a single species of bat. I thought bats are horrible creatures. But I changed my mind after I got close to them. Also, they can harbor ectoparasites.
weknowthewor Posted January 9, 2007 Posted January 9, 2007 Upto my knowledge they were the carriers for rabies in pst history...
carol Posted January 10, 2007 Author Posted January 10, 2007 I was bitten once but I did not get a shot. I thought I don't have to since that bat was from a remote cave.
satrohraj Posted January 28, 2007 Posted January 28, 2007 I like them, But they hit me accidentally on the back of my neck, in its flight, when i was walking back home..I was 10.. It was like someone hit me with a small stone Actually they dont run into anything like that, you know they can track position, size, etc of the object with some infrasonic sounds which human ear cannot hear...You might be knowing it right? Now I am 17, and I am a biology student, I should be interested in them, even if i do not want to But I like them..their wings are awesome, and their sleeping style too..lol
