CPL.Luke Posted December 25, 2006 Posted December 25, 2006 so I have a problem, my itunes library got screwed up and there are now two copies of about 2700 songs on my computer. This takes up a good 20 GB and I'd like to get rid of them, the problem is I can't figure out a way to get rid of them without manually going through and deleting the songs. any ideas?
ecoli Posted December 25, 2006 Posted December 25, 2006 you can delete multiple files at once you know. Just click, drag and delete.
CPL.Luke Posted December 25, 2006 Author Posted December 25, 2006 yes the problem is that when I have the duplicate files arranged they are shown in one large folder, if I was to delete all of them I would lose both copies of the files, and to go through and select the ones that should be deleted would take hours.
insane_alien Posted December 25, 2006 Posted December 25, 2006 organize the folder so you have 2(or any even number) columns. it should have organized so you have two identical colums. shift drag and delete one of the columns.
swansont Posted December 25, 2006 Posted December 25, 2006 Been there. Try "Corral All Dupes" http://www.dougscripts.com/itunes/scripts/scripts01.php?page=2#corralitunesdupes It creates a playlist of the duplicates, so you can select all and then delete. If you're using a Mac.
CPL.Luke Posted December 25, 2006 Author Posted December 25, 2006 I tried that but it looks like it placed both the originals and the duplicates in there, if I selected all and deleted I'd lose about 2000 songs
