christine
hi i have a question for any immunologists, does any one know of any protein, detectable by western blot, that are localised to the T cell nucleus regardless of T cell activation? I'm doing a cell fractionation and i need to confirm that the nuclear fraction does indeed contain the nucleus. thanks.
Bluenoise
In humans? Do you mean on the exteriour of the nucleus? I'd imagine some part of the nuclear pore complex would be a safe bet. And all cells with a nuclues must have this complex for the nuclues to function so it should work for T-cells. *Edit* Good guess on my part. I found a company selling antibodies for detection of the nucleus by porins in the nuclear pore complex in humans. http://www.novusbio.com/data_sheet/index/&prod_id=20470&prev_module=search Found another one here as well, uhhh this one is for yeast, so it might not work for humans. Says not tested in humans. http://www.google.ca/url?sa=t&ct=res&cd=7&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.abcam.com%2Findex.html%3Fdatasheet%3D4641&ei=v12kRab0B6DQgQKdsr2eBA&usg=__09rofEzS9rqMStl4HqaeXWpztBk=&sig2=a-PsVJXa81hCZWCSpQQcCw Hope that helps. queenc
Here's are some sources that I found. http://www.genetex.com/LC3B-Protein-GTX116080-pro.html http://www.genetex.com/LC3-Protein-GTX118992-pro.html These are for western blot with reactivity in human. I would confirm with their technical support if they are localised to the T cell nucleus regardless of T cell activation. Best of luck!
