im doing a science experiment at my school and and im doing will the surface effect how high a tennis ball will bounce im using plastic wood and metal could anyone help me out with what else i should do

Try adding materials that have more "give" or "bounce" to them. Like a rubber mat, and a thickness of foam rubber.

 

Make sure you do multiple measurements, so you know that, for example, a smaller value is due to the surface, and not the tennis ball getting worn out

Might not be part of what you're measuring but have you tried bouncing the tennis ball with a basketball immediately below it, so they're touching and both get bounced? Pretty dramatic but maybe something for another experiment.
