fafalone Posted January 13, 2004 Posted January 13, 2004 I found it by blike saying "hey im making a science site want to help?", and i haven't left since
Glider Posted January 13, 2004 Posted January 13, 2004 I really can't remember. If it followed my usual pattern, I was probably searching for something completely unrelated, which, as a result of my stumbling across this site, probably never got found. Hey ho.
JaKiri Posted January 13, 2004 Posted January 13, 2004 RadicalEdward brought me over to respond to the spin gravity fellow.
YT2095 Posted January 13, 2004 Posted January 13, 2004 I got tired of the rellentless p0rn and decided to search for something more "sensible" instead
blike Posted January 13, 2004 Author Posted January 13, 2004 PAGD? Jennifer? Zarkov was the spin gravity fellow. I suspect we had around 10 signups just to mock him
Sayonara Posted January 13, 2004 Posted January 13, 2004 PAGD: http://pirate.planetarion.com/forumdisplay.php?f=2 Jennifer = clever lady on there. Not sure what her username on here was but I'm not sure she posts any more...
greg1917 Posted January 13, 2004 Posted January 13, 2004 I had a question about optical isomers and found quite a good community. In terms of actually finding the site, I typed in 'science forum' into google and this site looked the best of the first 5 or so results. All priase mighty google :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship:

aommaster Posted January 15, 2004 Posted January 15, 2004 I was just looking for a science forum, where i would get the answers to my millions of questions. And i agree with greg greg1917 saidAll priase mighty google :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: [/b]
Cap'n Refsmmat Posted January 16, 2004 Posted January 16, 2004 Google is the most powerful search engine, you know.
Dudde Posted January 16, 2004 Posted January 16, 2004 I was searching for something or another...I can't remember now. I'll bet I never found it either, I started reading into this site as soon as I stumbled across it

Dudde Posted January 16, 2004 Posted January 16, 2004 but dogpile usually turns up about the same thing as I can get from google, plus a bunch of stuff almost not even related to what I want to find:-p GoOgLe Pwns j00!
YT2095 Posted January 16, 2004 Posted January 16, 2004 well, it is a meta search, and all 19 engines (at last count) dont all respond to the same input in the same way, but sure, as a stand alone search tool Google`s the one without a doubt
aommaster Posted January 17, 2004 Posted January 17, 2004 yeah, i used dogpile once, and HATED it. It is soo annoying, in so many ways. One is the ads, TALKING BUDDY KNOWS ABOUT.... Then, as Dudde said, there are so many repeats, and that there are things found not related to what u are looking for.
amoda Posted January 17, 2004 Posted January 17, 2004 i just typed science forums on google and this was the 1st one of the list. That reminds me i should check out the others.
YT2095 Posted January 17, 2004 Posted January 17, 2004 no you shouldn`t, THIS ONE is the best, hence "top of the list"
fafalone Posted January 20, 2004 Posted January 20, 2004 We're 3rd now, behind "AV Science Forum" (audio visual) (which uses its massive traffic to influence the rankings), and "Alaska Science Forum"... who knows how that got so high.
aommaster Posted January 20, 2004 Posted January 20, 2004 I paid a small visit the the AV science forum. It looked very UNmaintained. It was SOOOO messy! It had like 25 buttons for advertisement. I prefer a forum, that is tidy, neat and organised, like this one
fafalone Posted January 20, 2004 Posted January 20, 2004 and it has nothing to do with science. it's all about a/v equipment.
NSX Posted February 2, 2004 Posted February 2, 2004 I googled SF as well. I prefer google over other engines b/c they have text ads. => quicker loading
