Hey guys. I've been told to take this to aid me in my hyperhidrosis. I went to a doctor and he prescribed me neurotonin which contains something called gabapentin. I'm not sure if it's the same GABA I looked up on the internet that comes in pills and powder form like some sort of supplement (vitamin packaging and whatnot). Can someone aid me on this? And what would be better, powder or pill form if I want to order some online? Much thanks.

Just follow the course your doctor has prescribed before ordering anything extra...out of interest, and obviously you don't need to answer, but do you suffer from any other symptoms such as anxiety, that causes your hyperhidrosis, or is this purely a physiological problem ?

I often have excessively sweaty hands and armpits (sometimes feet) where, when in a natural temp. environment, I can easily produce beads of sweat in these areas. Do you feel GABA would help OP, or do you have any other useful info?

adenocarcinoma... :'( gulp! I need to stay off neurontin then. Thanks for the linkage.

I think my hyperhidrosis causes me to be 24/7 anxious, and then the anxiety stresses on the hh even more, so it's proly an endless cycle of anxiety and sweat. I should look into getting gaba instead of gabapentin.

mm, the doctor told me it's ok to take it, but on wiki it says it caused adenocarcinoma in rats. Well, I know it's rats, but it kinda gives me the creeps...

Well, if you avoided every chemical that could 'possibly' cause cancer, you probably wouldn't leave your house, also take your doctors advice over anything you read on the internet, however credible it may be. The trouble with doing that, is you can display minor symptons that probably mean jack, and correlate them with something life threatening.

I wonder how many patients do book appointments after reading something off the internet...I know this probably doesn't apply to you, so please don't think I'm having a go, but it's probably a point worth noting for anyone who looks for advice off the internet.

GABA is an effective way to increase growth hormone levels and AST makes a high-quality product.

Can anyone tell me if this means it induces bodily hair growth, since I really wouldn't like that (who would rly)?

Hey guys. Just wanted to let you know that I HAD hyperhidrosis. I had the armpit issue. I just had what is called thoracoscopic sympathectomy yesterday. It was minor surgery and now it is just one day later and I have not sweated at all under my armpits. This type of surgery works also for the sweating problem with the hands. Just wanted to let you know.
