Crazy Pills Posted February 21, 2007 Posted February 21, 2007 I have a "recycle bag" in my apartment. It's just a huge, heavy bag that I put all my cardboard/paper recycle in. There was a box sitting on top of the bag htat just fell off. The box had to have been sitting there for at least a day and it just decides to fall now? What would cause that?
insane_alien Posted February 21, 2007 Posted February 21, 2007 not everything has to happen quickly, and there are unknown conditions here, was it sitting perfectly ontop or over to the side, were there small animals near it that you couldn't see, was it windy, etc. etc. there are a multitude of reasons why it could have fallen off. also, it may have been tipping over since you left it there, its just that friction was slowing it down enough so you couldn't see it til the final tip.
Klaynos Posted February 21, 2007 Posted February 21, 2007 GHOSTS! On a slightly more relavent point, happens to me all the time, normally just as I'm dropping off to sleep.
spikerz66 Posted February 21, 2007 Posted February 21, 2007 What happened!!!!????? call in the witch hunt!!! No really i can think of a few possiblities. -it was tipping from the beginning, just slowly -wind -animals -you bumped it -sudden change in the earths gravity (i couldnt help but put it there)
YT2095 Posted February 21, 2007 Posted February 21, 2007 sub sonic vibrations can do it also, a huge truck passing a block away can cause things to move if it hits the correct resonant frequency, you however will not hear it.
Ndi Posted February 22, 2007 Posted February 22, 2007 Humidity causes cardboard to go soft in time until it couldn't support it's weight and rolled over. (yet another guess)
Phi for All Posted February 22, 2007 Posted February 22, 2007 Your flooring could be loose near the bag as well. As you walk by the floor moves up and down, causing the bag to shift each time until it falls.
