serious7 Posted February 26, 2007 Share Posted February 26, 2007 My teacher said blue litmus paper stays blue in acids. I checked wikipedia and it said that blue litmus paper changes red in acids. carol Posted February 28, 2007 Share Posted February 28, 2007 To identify whether the substance is acid, you should use blue litmus since the color changes into red. To test for base, use red litmus because it changes into blue. You can't observe changes if do the other way around, like what spikerz66 said.
