FreeThinker
Hey all, I remember reading one of Richard Dawkins books a long time ago. He was describing animals which are too grotesque to be designed by an omni-benevolent God. One of the organisms he described was a creature which, usually, gives birth to three daughters and one son. Firstly the brother impregnated the sisters. Than, the four of them eat the mother from inside. Once the male breathes in oxygen, he dies. The sisters live on to repeat the cycle. As I recall it was some specie of mice, but I am not convinced it is . Anyone have any ideas?
Heretic
I'm sorry but I have to ask. Exactly which religion do you believe has an "omni-benevolent God"?
JHAQ
Read Dr Tatiana-- Sex for all Creation by Julia Judson . I am sure you will find it there somewhere . Maybe Mole rats ? Would such an omni - benevolent God have created narural selection as the mechanism of natural selection ?
Pre4edgc
I don't think it's mole rats, cuz I saw a picture of a litter of more than five. Could it be the kangaroo mouse? Or probably something from Madasgascar.
Mokele
I vaguely recall a species like this, except it was a mite.
Phi for All
Don't some species of flies eat their way out of the mother to be born?
mak2
Probably more humane than trying to raise them and send them to college, but, just a phase I am going thru. 2 kids in college.
