lboogy Posted March 25, 2007 Posted March 25, 2007 hello all, I was just wondering if anyone could give me some advice. I am doing a photsynthesis experiment using pond weed and varying light. What range of light in watts do you think is appropriate? I am doing this experiment at home and haven't got a device to change the light so will have to rely on different light bulbs with different watts. thanks
bombus Posted April 12, 2007 Posted April 12, 2007 Don't use different bulbs. Just get semi opaque paper (say greaseproof paper for cooking, or similar) and wrap different amounts around your different vials of pond water. Its far cheaper, easier and very effective!
ecoli Posted April 13, 2007 Posted April 13, 2007 or try plastic mesh instead of paper. You could wrap the light several times so that no light shows through, and then varying amounts. Label the variables in terms of percentage of light being let through. No covering would be 100% light.
