Genecks Posted April 4, 2007 Posted April 4, 2007 I was doing an experiment, and I had to balance the equations. Think you could tell me if I did these correctly? [math]2Mg + O_{2} -bunsen burner-> 2MgO_{(s)}[/math] [math]2 MgO + 2H_{2}O --> 2Mg(OH)_{2}[/math] 1) Magnesium + oxygen = Magnesium oxide 2) Magnesium oxide + water = Magnesium Hydroxide
insane_alien Posted April 4, 2007 Posted April 4, 2007 your missing a water molecule and a hydrogen molecule from the second equation
insane_alien Posted April 4, 2007 Posted April 4, 2007 You or I? both. for everyone else, i made a mistake the first time round and edited it to say <wait, made a mistake> then i edited it again and put up the right answer.
