dArKchiLd Posted April 25, 2007 Posted April 25, 2007 Does anyone know if sodium p-hydroxymercuribenzoate is a competitive or non competitive inhibitor of leucine amino peptidase?
CharonY Posted April 26, 2007 Posted April 26, 2007 p-hydroxymercuribenzoate attacks unspecifically the thiol groups and is therefore a non-competitive inhibitor. This is also reflected by the fact that it is an inhibitor of a fairly large number of enzymes.
