Well, I've had this for several years now, possibly longer...and I wondered if this is actually a condition. It doesn't really bother me, but if there's a particular event or something I'm looking forward to i.e getting home from work on a Friday and looking forward to a few beers with friends, I feel physically sick.

I've been known to get home on a Friday, and rush to the toilet and vomit, just out of pure excitement. If I'm leaving work and I know I'm off abroad somewhere, or off to a festival, it's really bad...and I can feel nauseas for up to a day, have no appetite et.c Am I just too easily excitable, or is there something else going on here ?

Obviously it's natural to get butterflies in your stomach when your anticipating a long awaited event, but not to the point that you have to be sick.

EDIT: Just to add, this happens a lot...practically every week.

stress hormones dude.

adrenaline is the same whether it`s from fear or excitement (it`s only the brain that determines what it`s associated with).

I get exactly the same effect myself although not from happy excitement too often.

I tend to get it After an event.

Right, thanks YT, at least I'm not the only one. I've obviously told my friends about this, and they thought it was rather bizarre, I just took it as I'm easily excited...but I'll look up stress hormones.

Dopamine levels rise with excitement and dopamine-induced nausea/vomiting is quite common. In fact we use dopamine-blocking agents in anesthesia to treat N/V.

Before i used to get diuretic on the same described situations, but mostly during the awaited event, not the moment before. And i didn't drink more than usual either.
