Amr Morsi Posted May 15, 2007 Posted May 15, 2007 Hi All, I was just wondering: Are Tendons' connections to the end of bones can endure these heavy loads that we carry? Or, that connections are through the length of the bones! Any help? Thanks in advance.
Realitycheck Posted May 16, 2007 Posted May 16, 2007 They are connected to the far end of one bone which does not move (the origin) and to the end of another bone on the opposite end (the insertion), which the muscle pulls on. The tendon connects the muscle to the bone and varies a lot in size, depending on the particular muscle and genetics, but it gradually blends the tissue from bone to muscle and is generally fairly short.
