Installing software on a Mac

Featured Replies

I've been thinking about getting a Mac, but I'm wondering what computer software is compatible with the OS. I know you can download some patch or software that would allow you to install Microsoft based programs such as Word, but are the computer programs or games that you see in a store compatible with the OS as well?

You don't need any patch to run Microsoft Office, you just buy Microsoft Office:Mac, it's been available for quite some time now.

Some games have Mac versions, read the back of the box to see what's needed.

What software were you thinking of?

(someone move this to Computer Help, please)

If you're going to buy a new Mac with an Intel chip in it, you can run Windoze on it along with the Mac OS and there aren't as many concerns about compatibility as you would have if you are buying an older system.
