Killa Klown Posted June 18, 2007 Posted June 18, 2007 How do machines like robots and spaceships detect damage when it is done? Do they have some type of mechanical or robotic nerves that give it the ability to detect damage amongst itself?
Rocket Man Posted June 27, 2007 Posted June 27, 2007 nichrome wire makes for a very nice tension sensor. i think aircraft use this sort of thing to detect dangerous flex in the wing. but essentially, it's up to the designer to account for damage detection.
