When I'm getting directions for central London, off of people rather than machines, they occasionally say to cross the road at the shouting guy, I guess it could be like that.

yeah, i've seen that one before. i've also seen directions for cutting through a field(though on the satellite, there is only one gate) and driving for 36 miles on train tracks before cutting across the platforms.

 

i think i'm going to go with the oldfashioned method of a paper map and a pencil.
